What are the world’s most valuable brands in 2024?

This list of the world’s most valuable brands is based on Kantar’s comprehensive research into the opinions of more than 4.3 million respondents about 21,000 brands across 532 categories.

Kantar’s methodology involves quantifying a brand’s financial value by evaluating its ability to deliver value to its parent company. This process includes assessing consumer perceptions and the brand’s market influence, which are indications of a brand’s potential to drive future earnings.

1. Apple ($1.02 trillion)

Topping the list of the world’s most valuable brands in 2024 is Apple. Not only is this the third consecutive year Apple has held this title, it also marks an unprecedented milestone as it becomes the first brand to surpass the $1 trillion brand value mark.

Apple’s dominance stems from its sustained innovation, premium products, and loyal customer base. From the iPhone to the Apple Watch, its ecosystem continues to set industry standards. In fact, in the US alone, the iPhone market share has risen over the past decade and currently stands at 61.3%.

2. Google ($753.5 billion)

Google remains a cornerstone of the digital age, securing the second spot on this ranking of the most valuable brands, with a brand value of $753.5 billion. 

Google’s diverse range of services, including search, advertising, and cloud computing, underscores its substantial brand value. Recent data shows that Google’s top revenue sources are search, YouTube, and Google Network ads, accounting for around three-quarters of its annual revenues.

3. Microsoft ($712.9 billion)

With a brand value of $712.9 billion, Microsoft maintains its stronghold as one of the leading tech giants and is the third-most valuable brand in the world. It’s worth noting that its brand value in 2024 marks a 42% annual increase.

Its extensive range of products, including Office 365, Azure, and the Windows operating system, contributes significantly to its brand equity. Microsoft’s investments in AI and cloud services in recent years are also driving growth and consumer trust. Incidentally, Microsoft also ranks among the most trusted brands in the world in 2024.

4. Amazon ($576.6 billion)

Amazon, the ecommerce behemoth, holds the fourth position, with a brand value of $576.6 billion. Its dominance in online retail, coupled with its growing presence in cloud computing through Amazon Web Services (AWS), ensures its place among the top global brands. 

Boasting a market cap of close to $2 trillion, Amazon currently also ranks among the top retail companies worldwide

5. McDonald’s ($221.9 billion)

McDonald’s is the highest-ranked non-tech brand, coming in fifth on the ranking of the most valuable brands, with a value of $221.9 billion. 

Despite being a fast food brand, McDonald’s has been quick to adapt to the latest tech developments. Its innovative use of AI for dynamic menu boards and order predictions highlights its ability to stay relevant. 

6. NVIDIA ($201.8 billion)

NVIDIA has made a significant leap to the sixth spot this year, with a brand value increase of 178% from 2023. Known for its high-performance graphics processing units (GPUs), NVIDIA’s advancements in AI and machine learning have fueled its rapid ascent. Its technology is integral to various sectors, including gaming, automotive, and data centers.

7. Visa ($188.9 billion)

Visa, the global payment technology company, is the seventh-most valuable brand in the world. In 2024, it is valued at $188.9 billion, with a 12% rise from 2023.

Visa’s secure and reliable payment solutions are widely trusted by consumers and businesses alike. Its efforts in digital payments and fintech innovations have solidified its position in the market.

8. Facebook ($166.8 billion)

Facebook returns to the top 10 list after falling short in 2023. Its brand value of $166.8 billion this year marks a 79% annual rise. 

Analysts say its dominance in social media and strategic moves into virtual reality and the metaverse have proven pivotal to its brand strength. Facebook’s growing user base and advertising revenues are also key contributors to its high value.

9. Oracle ($145.5 billion)

Oracle features in the list of the 10 most valuable brands in the world for the first time, with a brand value of $145.5 billion.

Known for its comprehensive suite of software solutions and cloud services, Oracle’s enterprise technology solutions, commitment to innovation, and customer-centric approach are what’s driving its brand value. 

10. Tencent ($135.2 billion)

Tencent, China’s leading internet company, rounds out the world’s most valuable brands, with a brand value of $135.2 billion. The multinational technology conglomerate’s extensive portfolio includes social networking, gaming, fintech, and cloud services.
