How many people use Facebook Messenger?
According to the latest statistics, the number of Facebook Messenger users worldwide has been fluctuating in the past couple of years. In October 2022, there were 976 million users. This figure dipped by 4.6% the following quarter, to 931 million, and was followed by an 11% rise in April 2023, which saw the number of Facebook Messenger users rise to 1.04 billion. According to the latest Facebook Messenger statistics, this figure held steady for the rest of the year.
2024 opened with 979 million Facebook Messenger users, the lowest in four quarters, after a 5.4% dip from October 2023. The number of Facebook Messenger users rose slightly by 3.1% in April 2024, to 1.01 billion. Since then, the figure has been recording quarterly falls. In July, a 3.3% decline saw the number of Facebook Messengers fall to below the one-billion mark, to 977 million, before another dip of 4% brought the figure down further to 937 million in October.

For instance, the third-largest age group is 35 to 44: 21.3% of Facebook Messenger users are of these ages and 12.6% are between 45 and 54 years old.
