1. Facebook (60.9%)

According to a recent analysis, Facebook is the top social commerce platform in the US in 2024, with 60.9% of social shoppers having made a purchase through the platform. 

Known as the king of social media, Facebook is able to dominate thanks to its mature marketplace infrastructure, which provides a seamless transition from product discovery to checkout. Marketplace, Shops, and targeted advertising tools also enable brands to engage consumers at every stage of their shopping journey. 

With a global user count of three billion monthly users, Facebook is the go-to platform for businesses hoping to reach a broad audience. 

2. TikTok (35.5%) 

TikTok follows next on this list ranking the top social commerce platforms, with 35.5% of social shoppers reporting a purchase on the platform. TikTok’s creator-led marketing campaigns resonate particularly well with younger audiences, providing authentic product demonstrations. TikTok's "Shop Now" features and in-app shopping integrations also boost sales by allowing brands to leverage viral moments.

3. Instagram (34.3%)

Boasting more than 1.4 billion users in 2024 and ranking third on the list of the top social commerce platforms is Instagram. Together with Facebook, it is owned by the same parent company, Meta. In 2024, more than one-third (34.3%) of social shoppers reported making purchases via Instagram, ensuring the social network remains a visually-driven platform ideal for product discovery and brand storytelling. 

4. YouTube (26.4%)

With more than one-quarter (26.4%) of social shoppers buying products on YouTube, the world’s top video marketing platform plays a key role in social commerce by providing long-form content such as product reviews, tutorials, and influencer partnerships. YouTube’s in-depth videos offer detailed product information and its shoppable video features allow direct purchases.

7. Snapchat (8.6%)

Snapchat ranks seventh on this list of the top social commerce platforms, attracting 8.6% of social shoppers.

With 432 million active users, more than half of whom are under the age of 24, Snapchat’s AR tools are a key asset for brands targeting younger shoppers.

8. Reddit (6.2%)

Reddit sees 6.2% of social shoppers purchasing on its platform, driven by its community-based environment. Frequented by more than half a billion users, Reddit is effective in driving sales for businesses in niche markets, where there’s a tendency for genuine conversations and recommendations to drive purchase decisions. 

9. LinkedIn (5%)

Completing the list of the top social commerce platforms of 2024 is LinkedIn, with 5% of social shoppers having purchased products via the social network. With a reputation as a professional networking site, LinkedIn is gaining traction in B2B social commerce. Its professional environment is ideal for promoting business products and services.
